Every day when he comes home from work, you will hear squeals throughout our house as our girls are racing to the door. And he normally comes in the door, kisses me, and then gets bombarded by them.

He is either holding both of them in his arms or they are tackling him on the floor. Isabella, especially, thinks the sun rises and sets on him.

Just the other night she asked him to fix something for her and he said "I'll try, I can't fix everything though" to which she responded by laughing and saying "Daddy, you're silly anyway.

She will put a little dress on and say "Daddy will be so excited", "Daddy will think I'm so pretty", "Maybe Daddy will dance with me".

I can tell her a hundred times a day that she is beautiful, but she wants her Daddy to tell her and when he does, because he always does, she gets this sweet little shy look on her face, like "Yay, my Daddy thinks I'm pretty".

And its not just hearing that she's pretty, she wants to please him in other ways -- like shouting "Go Blue" even if its in the middle of a NFL, NBA, or our hometown baseball game instead of Michigan sports, she doesn't know who is playing, but she knows that Daddy loves it when she yells Go Blue.

Amelia hasn't gotten into all of that yet, but I know its coming, it's sure to come, they will both end up being Daddy's girl.

And that's Ok, seeing how sweetly he loves them, plays with them, disciplines them, prays with them, makes me know how blessed they are to have him for a daddy.

There is so much more I could say, but I won't type forever. Sunday, June 10, Praise the Lord update. My dad told me last night and then my cousin Sheryl Norma's daughter posted an update today about my aunt, here is what she said I did talk to Melva our cousin last night and the cancer has not gotten into moms bones and she doesn't have the congested heart failure.

She does have the bacteria you get from hot tubs. How I don't know. I want to thank everyone for their prayers for mom. It really means a lot to know that there are people you have never met, praying for your loved ones.

My dad told me this last night and what a huge answer to prayer. Because of my aunt's symptoms, the drs were thinking that it was going to be congestive heart failure, but the test results said no.

Thank you Lord! And when I personally heard that the "stuff" for lack of better term on her chest had spread, I was so afraid that the cancer was either spreading or something, but it hasn't -- again, thank you Lord!

I really do appreciate all of you who have prayed for her, some of you have mentioned it on here and some of you, I know are praying but don't comment much on my blog : All of the prayers are greatly appreciated.

And I echo my cousins sentiment, it is really encouraging to know that people I have never met in person are praying!

Please continue to pray that she will feel better, that she will be able to fight this infection away quickly due to her lower immunity from chemo she can catch things like this easier , and that God will continue to strengthen and encourage her and all those around her.

I am still praying for complete healing and it is an encouragment to me personally to feel that God has not told me to do otherwise. Posted by DeAnna at PM 4 comments:.

Thursday, June 07, Last of the beach pics. These first ones are pictures from our evening at Harbour Town. We went there to eat and then got on a sightseeing cruise to see dolphins.

The kids loved seeing the dolphins and as you can see above, they let you take pictures of the kids "driving" the boat. Isabella really thought she was driving.

She hopped up on that seat and started steering back and forth -- praise God she wasn't really driving or we all would have been sea sick. This picture really cracks me up, I decided that maybe I could get a picture of my girls with the lighthouse in the distance, but then the boat made a loud noise so I have a few pictures of Isabella with a similar look on her face, trying to smile for mommy, but more of a terrified smile of that noise.

This one was the funniest. We saw lots of alligators that week, or maybe the same alligator lots of times, but either way the kids were thrilled to see them.

Last year we only saw the alligator a couple times well, I didn't see them at all but lots of turtles. And that's it, that concludes my beach pictures or at least I think so, for now.

Posted by DeAnna at PM 13 comments:. Update on my aunt. Please continue to pray. Right now, the doctors are thinking that my aunt may have congestive heart failure -- which is a common side effect of chemotherapy I didn't know this.

They are still running some tests to find out for sure, but they are thinking this is most likely. The stuff on her chest has spread, last week it was 6 inches and this week it was 12 inches.

I'm not sure what this means, I don't think they are yet either. I think the drs are coming in today to check that out.

There was some mention of it being a side effect of medicine or something like that. So we will find out hopefully today if this is the cancer that has spread that quickly or something else.

I'm sorry I'm so vague, we don't know a lot right now. Hopefully my dad will hear today from one of his other sisters more information.

Please pray obviously for my aunt in general, I know she is in alot of pain, I know they have her on medicine, but I'm not sure how much this helps.

Please pray for God's peace and that her spirits will be lifted instead of discouraged-- I know it has to be so discouraging to not know what is going on, and to have to be living in pain.

Please pray for wisdom for the drs to know how to diagnose and handle everything. And also pray for my other aunts and cousins as they are up there with her and are having to deal with things first hand.

I know that it has to be really hard on them to see her in pain and not know exactly what is going on. Posted by DeAnna at AM 2 comments:.

Wednesday, June 06, Joy. Sometimes your joy is the source. Posted by DeAnna at PM 2 comments:. Tuesday, June 05, Please Pray.

I just wanted to come and ask for prayer for my aunt Norma Nunu to Isabella. Those of you who are closest to me already know that my aunt has been fighting breast cancer for some time now and I know that you are already praying for her.

Anyway, I just got a call from my mom and she said that Dad got a call that my aunt has been taken to the hospital.

The type of cancer she has is inflammatory breast cancer, its very aggressive and she has been undergoing different types of chemotherapy for a long time now.

Just last week, she had gotten some good news that the tumor had shrunk some. She actually has a tumor in the breast and on the outside -- I'm not sure if I'm explaining that right but when we went up last month, Norma had this unbelievably painful looking sore tumor on the outside of her chest.

I don't even know how to describe it to you, it wasn't just a lump it looked like a huge open wound and just looking at it made me hurt for her and it bothered me to think just how painful things must be for her.

She doesn't sit around complaining about anything, but you just know that it hurts and of course going through treatment is bad enough with it wiping her out for a couple days.

From what my mom said, they took her to the hospital because that tumor on her chest has gotten bigger over the last couple days.

I just really covet your prayers for her now. I don't know what God's ultimate will is for her life, but I know that He is in control.

And I know He answers prayer, so until He tells me otherwise I will continue to pray for healing. So my blogging might not be earth shattering, it most definitely will not be everyday, it might even just be a picture like this: Because looking at these two faces always brightens up my day Posted by DeAnna at PM 4 comments:.

Thursday, January 21, Hello?!? Is this Mic on? Ok, so I've taken a long sabbatical from blogging. I guess I should have told all three of you that I was going to do this.

It wasn't totally planned, but as our busy fun fall went along I just didn't feel like sitting down and blogging. Then along came the Christmas season and same thing, enjoying my family time far too much to be at the computer alot.

I would say that I've kept in touch with some of you through facebook, but I think its been months since I posted new pictures on there as well.

The last few months have been full of all kinds of fun stuff - honestly, I love fall and Christmas, but this year seemed even better. I'm going to post some pictures, but not alot because I only have 30 minutes to do this before I have to pick up Isabella from school.

This fall, we loved the weather, Kenny put up a new swing for the girls, so hours upon hours were spent swinging -- them, not me, although I did give it a whirl, its just not nearly as fun when your butt almost drags the ground because you're We tried to enjoy the pretty weather as much as we could - although we missed out on a couple things that we normally do every year, like apple picking, we were able to replace them with different fun memories.

I was able to go away one weekend for some girl time with my cousin, Alyssa. We went to the beach and had so much fun. I wish I could post a video from that time on here, but she might kill me.

Then, of course, fall brings Halloween and I just love dressing my girls up. This year Isabella decided s he wanted to be her own version of Mulan and Amelia Snow White - of course.

Then our friends who live in Ireland had come back to the states for a little over a month and we tried to snag up anytime with them that we could.

We were able to spend an afternoon out in the beautiful weather, another day at the Children's Museum, and another afternoon Cindy planned a tea party for all the little girls -- such fun, fun memories!

We had so much fun, and it has made us miss them even more! Posted by DeAnna at AM 3 comments:. Sunday, October 11, Zipline.

As promised, here's a couple pics of us at the zipline for our anniversary. You can see from this first picture, that it was a rather glamorous thing to do for our anniversary.

Actually, you can't totally tell that because you aren't getting the full shot with the harness tightly around the lower regions, or the enormous work gloves I had to wear.

And for me, I had to wear tennis shoes with capris we weren't allowed to wear anything that came above our knees due to the harnesses I guess.

I have this thing about wearing tennis shoes. He was unsure pretty much the whole time, but was proud of himself at the end that he had accomplished it After going over one zip line we would then "hike" over things like this: This is one of the guides showing the lady behind him that it didn't matter if she did fell because we were attached to the line, it was kind of strange to walk across it We had a little training class at the beginning because we had to know how to hook ourselves on, make sure that when unhooking we would right away attach ourselves to a safety line We also had to learn how to stop ourselves -- hence the ugly work gloves because we had to use our hands to brake.

You can barely see me in this last picture, but I am there. This was the very last zip and it was so long. I shouted the whole way and the guide at the end was using the slow down signal and had the rope out to stop me, but I figured why not have fun, it was the last one, they couldn't ask me to leave now.

Found out my husband pretty much did the same thing. It was so much fun and I'm looking forward to doing that again. Isabella is looking forward to when she is 10 and she can go along with us.

Wednesday, October 07, A month?? I can't believe it has been a month since I last posted. I don't know how some of you can update every couple days, I want to, I just don't get around to it I guess.

I'm so disorganized, any of you organization freaks out there want to give me some pointers. Well, this past month has been busy. Right before my last post my husband and I went to this adorable place to celebrate our 13th anniversary.

And if you read this before there are zip line pictures, come back and look tomorrow. I was downloading the pictures today yes, I'm that behind and I realized that the zip line pictures weren't on my camera.

Like I would actually take my big camera down a zip line, not nearly as compact as my husband's point and shoot.

So, I have to find his camera and cord and I can download those. We had such a fun weekend. And this place was one of those "we definitely will have to come back to this place.

Amelia is maybe an inch shorter than Isabella. I'm hoping that and the fact that I dress them alike alot is the reason people continue to ask me if they are twins But don't feel bad for me, I actually loved it.

And I think pretty much everyone that showed up for this get together agreed. We had great times, great friends, great teachers and great memories.

I wouldn't change it. So, that has been my life in a nutshell for the past month. Give or take a few things in between of course.

We have been gone 4 out of the past 5 weekends, and still have several things planned for this month. The nice thing is that even though the months from September to December seem like the busiest for us, at least it is fall.

I love fall!!! Its my happy spot, once I get jeans and long sleeve shirts out, I'm so content. Hope everyone has been having a good fall as well!

Posted by DeAnna at PM 3 comments:. Friday, September 04, 13 years and 4 days ago. I married my best friend! And today I love him even more. I am not going to use the cliche "it feels like just yesterday I will admit 13 years has flown by, but when I think back about what we have done, what we have enjoyed, what we have gone through, how we have been blessed over the last 13 years, it definitely doesn't seem like just yesterday.

When I realize how old I am to be married for 13 years, sometimes I wish it was yesterday. I think she did a pretty good job.

No, she did not change the coloring in photoshop and burn the edges, but she'll get there. So Kenny and I have been talking about this off and on lately.

I really don't have real regrets, at least not in the sense that I would go back and change things - well, maybe I would change gaining 20 pounds, but I'm talking serious things people!

NOW, if you would have asked me in the middle of a trial, say infertility, yeah, I would have said you could have it. But then that would mean not having my 2 girls, not seeing God work, having a different life than I have now - nope wouldn't change it.

And if I would like to go back to say high school or college and be the person I am now, rather than that person back then, sure every now and then I would love to change that.

But again, if I was the person I am now, but my husband was not the person he is or vice versa So I thought the frame was appropriate when I saw it.

I am so thankful that God has given me an amazing husband, who is an amazing father to our girls. There isn't anyone else I can imagine spending the last 13 years or the next many, many more with.

I'll have to post picture later because I'm in the midst of packing and cleaning for a long Labor day weekend at the beach, but to celebrate we went away this past weekend.

The place we stayed at was marvelous! It was like a little mediteranean village and was Rustic Chic as their sign said.

It had a spa, which was oh so wonderful when my hubby booked me a massage. We also went on a zip line tour and had so much fun.

Just another thing I love about our marriage, we love spending time together, truly enjoy being with each other and trying new things together.

And yeah the zip line pictures will be attractive, we have helmets, harnesses, oversized gloves To my hubby: I love you Babe! With no regrets!

Well, I kind of regret that my wedding dress had a big bow on my butt, but other than that, no regrets. Posted by DeAnna at PM 7 comments:.

Monday, June 04, More Pictures. I wanted to post some more pictures from the beach. Plus I thought I would show off my girls and show you the clothes I was sewing that kept me busy the couple weeks before our trip.

I didn't really realize I had made so much for them, but I made them each 5 outfits, embroidered their name on 2 dresses. I had so much fun and one of these days they will either look back at pictures and like the outfits, or say "Aw, come on mom, did you have to dress us the same and in homemade outfits.

The alligator dress, I made because we see alligators down there and Isabella loves that-- but I of course had to make it look girly with the purse and pearls.

And I couldn't get Amelia to stay in the picture, but not to worry, she has a matching dress as well. Then I thought I would post some pictures from the day we went to Hunting Island.

We had a good day, but everything we did was "a day late and a dollar short". We got to this place that we love to eat 15 minutes after it closed, we didn't make it to the pier in time to fish because it closed The guys did get to take the kayak out on the lagoon but even that was so windy that only Kenny, my brother and my nephew Tyler went out for a long time because paddling back against the wind was pretty hard.

The younger ones did get to take a quick little ride in the kayak and I think Isabella is hooked -- she's going to enjoy going out with us.

Also the guys were the only ones that went up the lighthouse -- didn't realize there was an age limit on that, but due to steep steps they said they had to be so tall or at least walk all the way on there own.

They might have been able to walk it but Kenny said he was so glad he didn't take Isabella because when they walked out the door up top the wind was so strong it felt like it could blow you away -- it would have really scared her.

At first I felt bad thinking, "Great, we recommend this place and the day is not going like we planned and then Isabella said while on the beach, "Good summer days!

Anyway, here's the p ics from that day. Here's the guys at the top of the lighthouse. There are 2 stories to go with the picture of Isabella, below.

First of all, she loves to look for sea shells, of course most of the time I will point out the WHOLE pretty sea shells and she picks up broken pieces of a shell instead.

Hunting Island is such a good place to find seashells, when Kenny and I went there 4 years ago, we would go out walking in the morning and each day we would find sand dollars as well as some other unusual shells.

Anyway, Isabella found her "true love" shell there. I wish I would have gotten a picture of her holding it there. She didn't call it true love until we had left the beach.

If you've seen Cinderella 3 you will understand why she calls it "true love". When my mom asked her who her true love was she said "My true love is my parents" How sweet and silly is that -- and she usually doesn't call us her "parents".

We had just been through all kinds of stuff, especially that year and this was a confusing, yet sweet time for us. I remember feeling like God was taking us through trials, but that he was working in our lives.

Do you guys have places like this, places that you love because of a particular way you felt while you were there, places that make you feel extra close to God or yearn for that closeness?

Several of the mornings when we would walk on the beach we would see this little girl with her grandmother searching for sea shells.

I said to Kenny "One day, I hope we can bring a little one back here and watch them enjoy things like this -- that little girl looks about 3 or Its not the best pictures I've ever gotten of Isabella or anything, but for me to see this, its hits me and I just have to say "I hear you Lord, Thank you!

Posted by DeAnna at PM 9 comments:. Friday, June 01, Just a few beach pics. Very few beach pictures for today, but actually I don't have alot of pictures of the girls on the beach.

My mom has more so I will probably get them from her. And boy did she become the scooter queen. I wish I could have a video of her to post, she had the most determined little look and would just ride this thing back and forth between " 63 and the stop sign" those were mommy's rules and she even rode it around the campground with daddy.

The cutest thing ever! At home, we've been busy with Isabella going to school, searching for a new church, I've gotten back to being more organized with my meal plans now that the summer vacation is over, and we have also been having some fun family time.

The girls were racing by pushing apples with the noses down the halls. Kenny and I raced the girls as well, but who really wants to see our butts up in the air?!

This was part of family devotions can anyone guess what we were learning about? Hmm, wonder what kind of prize I could give if you guessed right.

Tuesday, July 06, Quotes from my weekend. I have no pictures for you I know, sad. For some reason my laptop is having problems.

It is giving me this warning saying my hard drive is about to die. Thankfully it didn't just up and die and I was able to back up all my pictures on it.

BUT, adding new pictures has become really slow. I might try later. My laptop is not that old, and of course this had to happen 6 months after my 2 year warranty ended.

Anyway, we went camping over the long holiday weekend. It was such a nice relaxing time together. We went to the beach and were expecting to spend lots of time at the beach, but it was crazy windy and crazy rough hopefully I can post a pic of the waves later.

We did get to spend a few hours out there, but the wind would get strong and cause the sand to sting our legs, and I wouldn't let the girls in the water above their ankles because it was too scary to me.

Kenny is in a cast from his knee down so it wasn't like he could take the girls out there and I don't trust my swimming skills that much. Thankfully, Kenny trusts my mama fears.

Isabella got knocked down once again water was near her ankles, but waves would come in quick Kenny said he can't remember the last time I went that fast.

Thankfully she got right back up, with her hair full of sand and small shells again, I have a picture They actually had one person drown down there this weekend, all they said was that a big wave came and knocked him and his friends down You can imagine how strong the waves were.

So sad. We were able to do lots of biking, and the weather was perfect for that. Isabella thinks she is big stuff now because she can bike without her training wheels and was "flying" through those trails.

Who am I kidding, she is big stuff, I'm so sad. And Keny even biked with his cast on - he refused for this to slow him down too much. A needed, restful time away.

So a little fun - here are our gathered favorite quotes from this weekend: Isabella: "Daddy, did you bring my boogie board, so I can boogie?

After the show was over, Amelia went over to the lady and said "I didn't get my turn yet. Posted by DeAnna at PM 2 comments:.

Monday, June 28, My new favorite. Over at The Idea Room, they are doing a little photo challenge. The challenge was to post a picture of yourself.

I think alot of mom's don't like to be in front of the camera and yet we will want our kids to have those memories, so we're just going to have to.

Now you will have to go over there and see the really cute creative pictures they have - like the one that is a Got Milk ad. I'm feeling a fun photoshoot coming on with my girls.

Isabella would get a kick out of that one since I don't drink milk and she is always sure to point that out to me There are so many reasons for me to NOT like this picture.

First, the day we took this and the family picture in the header I had just wanted to go out and take pictures of my girlies. And then lets take a couple family pics" The wall was an added bonus since Kenny's leg is in a cast To be quite honest, I hadn't showered that morning Yeah, I was 'stanky' with dirty hair.

The only reason I even threw a headband and a necklace on was because I knew we told the girls we would grab them breakfast out.

I didn't want to go into the restaurant stinking with dirty hair and not at least LOOK like I was trying. Secondly, who really enjoys a picture of themself scrunching their nose up - I mean really, no one says "Ok, now scrunch your face all up, yeah, that's it, But I love this, its my profile picture on Facebook -- it might be forever.

I love that my six year old wanted to take pictures of mommy and daddy and did a pretty good job , I love that I LET my six year old use my D : , I love that she kept saying "now hug, now kiss As much as I avoid getting in front of the camera, I'm glad my girls will have this picture memory of their mommy and daddy loving each other.

And boy don't I love this man!! Posted by DeAnna at PM 6 comments:. Friday, June 25, It has been so long that I forgot my own password for this blog.

The answer is yes, I think, maybe, ok, definitely yes. I think I just needed a break from the whole blogging world for a little while. Blogging has changed immensely since I started this blog over 4 years ago.

I mainly started this blog so that family out of state could catch up with us, funny thing is none of them ever comment so I'm not sure they even read it.

Then it was fun reading other blogs about families - some were, in particular, adoption blogs. Then blogging took on this whole competitive nature, and it starts becoming a matter of "are my pics that good?

But some of what was going on inside of me well, I didn't like it too much and I had to step back and rethink my reasons for blogging.

Mostly, I just want to do it to make a little record, journaling if you will, about my family. I already love looking back at previous posts and reading the silly things my girls said or did.

They are truly growing up too fast. It is also good way to keep in touch with people and I've quite honestly met some great people through blogging - many of which might have forgotten I have a blog but are at least friends with me on facebook.

And who knows I might even share a little inspiration like THIS adorable blog that shares so many pretty creative ideas. So my blogging might not be earth shattering, it most definitely will not be everyday, it might even just be a picture like this: Because looking at these two faces always brightens up my day Posted by DeAnna at PM 4 comments:.
